Frequently asked questions

Getting started

  • What is Bae Time?

Bae Time is an iPhone app for couples who want less scrolling and more time together. Pair with your partner, choose the apps you want to block, and start a timed session together.

  • Do we both need Bae Time?

Yes. Each partner installs Bae Time on their own iPhone. One person shares an invite link or pairing code, and the other uses it to connect.

  • Does Bae Time work on Android?

Bae Time is currently built for iPhone. There isn’t an Android version.

  • How do we start a session?

Choose your session length and send your partner a love arrow in the app. Your partner accepts the invitation to start your shared session together.

  • How long can a session last?

You can choose 15, 30, or 60 minutes in Settings under Session Length.

Blocking, photos, and subscriptions

  • Can we choose different apps to block?

Yes. Each person chooses the apps or app categories to block on their own phone using Apple’s Screen Time controls. You can change your selection in Bae Time’s Settings under Blocked Apps.

  • Can we end a session early?

Yes. Press and hold “Snuff the candle” on the session screen to end the session for both of you. Otherwise, the selected apps unblock when the timer finishes.

  • Do we have to take a photo after a session?

No. The post-session photo is optional. You can skip it and finish your session without taking one.

  • Do we each need a subscription?

No. One Bae Time subscription covers both partners once you’re paired. A subscription is required to send session invitations. Available plans and current prices are shown in the app before you purchase.

  • How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

The partner who purchased the subscription can open Settings in Bae Time and select Manage Subscription to open Apple’s subscription controls. You can manage or cancel the subscription there.
