Terms of Use
Bae Time · Last updated 6 September 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Sean Rose ("we", "us"), the developer of the Bae Time app. By downloading or using Bae Time, you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.
1. What Bae Time does
Bae Time lets two paired people agree to a period of time during which selected apps on their own phones are blocked. Blocking is performed by Apple's Screen Time and Family Controls features, which you authorise. You choose which apps to include; that choice is made and stored on your own device.
2. Eligibility and your account
You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to form a binding contract where you live. The app does not require a username or password; your device holds a randomly generated identifier that represents you. You are responsible for the device you install it on, and for anyone who uses the app on that device.
3. Pairing with a partner
Bae Time only works when you pair with one other person. Pairing means the two of you can start sessions with each other, see the photos taken as part of a session, and see each other's session history and streaks. Only pair with someone you trust. Either of you may unpair at any time from Settings.
4. Photos and content
The app invites you to take a photo of your partner when you start a session, and a photo of the two of you afterwards. By using these features you confirm that everyone pictured has agreed to being photographed and to that photo being shared with your partner through the app.
You keep ownership of the photos and text you create. You grant us the limited licence needed to store them and show them to your partner, and nothing more — we do not use your content for marketing, training, or advertising.
Do not use Bae Time to create or send anything illegal, harassing, threatening, hateful, sexually explicit involving minors, or that infringes someone else's rights. We may remove content and terminate access for violations.
5. Bae Time is not a safety or emergency tool
Blocking apps can prevent you from receiving calls, messages and alerts from those apps. Do not use Bae Time when you need to remain reachable — including while driving, working, caring for children or a dependent, on call, or in any situation where being unreachable could cause harm. Bae Time is not a parental control product, a monitoring product, or a medical or wellness device.
You can end a session early at any time from within the app, and blocking ends when the timer expires. Even so, you remain solely responsible for deciding when it is safe to start a session.
6. Subscriptions and payment
Some features require a paid subscription. All purchases are processed by Apple through your App Store account, on the following terms:
- The price, billing period and any free trial are shown to you in the app before you confirm.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period, and your Apple account is charged, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends.
- You can cancel at any time in your device's Settings under your Apple account subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not refund the current period.
- If you have a free trial, any unused part of it is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
- You can restore a previous purchase on a new device using Restore Purchases in the app.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store terms, not by us.
- We may change prices. Changes apply from your next billing period, and we will tell you first.
7. Acceptable use
Do not reverse engineer, decompile or tamper with the app; do not attempt to access another couple's data; do not use automated means to interact with the service; do not resell or redistribute it. We may suspend access for any of these.
8. Availability
We aim to keep Bae Time working, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error free. Session timers run on your device and continue without a network connection, but features that depend on the internet — invitations, syncing, the leaderboard — need one. We may change, suspend or discontinue features.
9. Disclaimers
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS ARISING FROM MISSED COMMUNICATIONS DURING A SESSION. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR USD 50.
Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you.
11. Apple
These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or for supporting it. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms and may enforce them against you. Your use must comply with the App Store Terms of Service.
12. Termination
You may stop using Bae Time at any time by deleting it. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms. Sections 4, 9 and 10 survive termination.
13. Changes and contact
We may update these terms; the date at the top will change and significant changes will be announced in the app. Questions go to support@baetime.app or Settings › The Operator › Help & Feedback.
