Privacy Policy

Bae Time · Last updated 6 September 2026

Bae Time is an app for two people who want to put their phones down and pay attention to each other. This policy explains what the app collects, why, who it is shared with, and how to get rid of it. It covers the Bae Time iOS app and its backend services.

The short version. We never ask for your name, your email address, or your phone number to use the app. You are identified by a random code generated on your device. The list of apps you choose to block never leaves your phone — not to us, not to anyone.

1. Who we are

Bae Time is developed and operated by Sean Rose, an independent developer. For any privacy question, contact support@baetime.app, or use Settings › The Operator › Help & Feedback inside the app.

2. What the app collects

Account and pairing

When you first open Bae Time, the app generates a random identifier (a UUID) on your device. That identifier — not your name or email — is how the service knows you. When you pair with a partner, we store the link between your two identifiers, and the display name each of you types in for the other. That name is whatever you choose to type; it is not verified and does not have to be real.

Session activity

When you start or accept a Bae Time session, we store the session's length, its start and end times, whether it completed or ended early, and running totals — how many sessions you have done and your current streak.

Photos you take in the app

Bae Time's core mechanic involves two photos: the invitation photo you take of your partner when you start a session, and the couple photo taken afterwards. If you are paired and online, these are uploaded so your partner can see them, and stored against your couple's record. They are visible to you and your partner. They are not used for advertising, not analysed for faces or content, and not shared with anyone else.

Leaderboard

Bae Time has an optional public leaderboard. Nothing appears on it unless you explicitly claim a couple name and publish it. If you do, the couple name you chose and your streak and session counts become visible to other users. You can opt out.

Notifications

To let your partner reach you, we store the push notification token Apple issues to your device. It is used to deliver Bae Time invitations and reminders, and nothing else.

Support and feedback

If you contact us through the in-app support form, we receive the category you picked, the message you wrote, and — only if you supply them — your email address for a reply and any screenshots you attach. If you tick the option to attach a session log, we also receive non-content technical details: your recent session numbers, durations and status. We never receive your photos or your messages through that log.

Purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We never see your card details. Our payment provider tells us whether your subscription is active and gives us Apple's anonymous transaction identifiers.

Analytics

We record which screens are viewed and which steps of onboarding and the paywall are reached, tied to your random identifier. We have deliberately switched off session recording, screen replay, tap-and-element tracking and rage-click detection. We do not collect your device's advertising identifier and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

3. What we deliberately do not collect

4. Why we process it

PurposeData used
Pairing you with your partnerRandom identifier, partner link, display name
Running and syncing a sessionSession times, status, push token
Showing the invitation and couple photosPhotos you take in the app
Streaks, history and the optional leaderboardSession totals, couple name
Unlocking a subscriptionSubscription status from Apple
Fixing bugs and improving the appScreen and event analytics, support tickets

Where the GDPR applies, our legal bases are performance of a contract (running the app you asked for), consent (photos, the leaderboard, optional support attachments) and legitimate interests (keeping the service working and secure).

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell your data and we never have. We use these service providers, and only for the purposes above:

We may also disclose information if we are legally required to, or to protect the safety of our users.

6. How long we keep it

Pairing and session records are kept while your account is active. Photos remain until you or your partner delete the session or the account. Support tickets are kept while we handle them and for a reasonable period afterwards. Analytics events are retained by our analytics provider on a rolling basis.

7. Your rights and how to use them

You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, or delete it. You can unpair from your partner at any time in Settings, which breaks the link between your accounts. To request deletion of everything associated with you, contact us through Settings › The Operator › Help & Feedback or at support@baetime.app. We will respond within 30 days.

Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to object to processing, to data portability, or to complain to your local data protection authority. California residents have the rights described in the CCPA, including the right to know and the right to delete; we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined there.

8. Children

Bae Time is not directed to children and is not intended for anyone under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security

Data in transit is encrypted with HTTPS. Stored data sits behind access rules that restrict each couple's records to that couple. No system is perfectly secure, but we do not store payment details or government identifiers at all, which limits the damage any breach could do.

10. Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top and, where the change is significant, tell you in the app.
